Our People – Recruitment at The Mount Salon

At The Mount, we are very proud to work with the hard working, creative, passionate people who make up our team. Guests often comment on the friendly atmosphere on the salon floor, and we know how important our people are in helping to create a professional environment where you can relax and enjoy visiting.  

Recruitment:

Our recruitment process is open to all. We love to hear from people who would like to join our team, even if we’re not advertising! 

Some of our team are school leavers who have arrived with us straight out after GCSEs or A-Levels whilst others are mature students, or those who already have experience in the hair and beauty industry. We prefer to offer apprenticeships to trainees, where 4 days each week are spent in salon working alongside our senior team to help gain as much real experience as possible on all different hair types. One day each week is spent with external training providers and we have worked with Exeter College, Hair Academy South West and Taunton and Bridgwater college. In salon, dedicated training time allows our team to work on models – please contact our reception team if you are interested in enjoying salon services at reduced rates.

Our team are all employed at The Mount, on either a full or part-time basis.

Training:

Training is continuous, with our team attending professional development courses both in and out of the salon. We work with leading salon brands to bring you the latest techniques, and salon director Alison is also a creative director for Moroccan Oil UK. We are also a member of 365 Hair, a leading business educator, and the National Hair and Beauty Federation.

Work Experience:

We liaise with local schools and colleges and work really hard to give a great flavour of the industry. Many students approach us each year and we like to work with those who are really passionate about their future career.
